This guide explains how to configure your Kyocera MFP (TASKalfa series) to securely send emails using Botdoc SMTP. The setup includes installing the Root Certificate and configuring SMTP with TLS authentication.
🔑 Prerequisites

Access to the Kyocera Command Center RX (web interface)

Administrator login credentials

Botdoc SMTP username and password (provided by Botdoc support)
Install the Root Certificate
Before configuring SMTP, the Kyocera must trust the GoDaddy Root Certificate.

Go to the MFP’s IP address in your browser (e.g., http://192.168.x.x).

Log in as Admin.

On the left menu, navigate to:
Security Settings → Certificates

Scroll down to the Root Certificate section and click Settings under Root Certificate 1.

Upload the GoDaddy Class 2 Certification Authority certificate file.

Download it from GoDaddy Root Certificates

Choose the DER format file.

After uploading, you will see the certificate listed as Active.

Configure SMTP Settings

On the left menu, go to:
Function Settings → E-mail → Common/Job Defaults

Fill out the SMTP configuration as follows:

SMTP Protocol: On

SMTP Server Name: apismtp.botdoc.io

SMTP Port Number: 587

SMTP Server Timeout: 10 seconds

Authentication Protocol: On
-
Authentication as: Other

Login User Name: Your Botdoc Username

Login Password: Your Botdoc Password

SMTP Security: STARTTLS

Scroll down and click Submit to save your settings.

After saving, use the Test button to verify the SMTP connection.

Verify the Connection
If configured correctly, the Test function will confirm successful communication with the Botdoc SMTP server.
Once verified, your Kyocera MFP can securely send scanned documents via Botdoc SMTP.
