Configuring Botdoc SMTP on Lexmark MFP (MX622adhe)

This guide explains how to configure your Lexmark MFP to send emails securely using Botdoc SMTP. We’ll install the required Root Certificate, configure SMTP settings, and test by sending a scanned document via email.

🔑 Prerequisites

1️⃣ Install the Root Certificate

Before configuring SMTP, the Lexmark must trust the Botdoc Root Certificate

  1. Download the certificate in DER or PEM format. (links above)

  2. Open the Lexmark EWS in your browser.

  3. Go to Security → Certificate Management.

  4. Under Manage CA Certificates, click Upload CA and select the certificate file.

  5. Verify that the Botdoc Certificate appears in the list.

2️⃣ Configure SMTP Server

  1. In the EWS menu, click Email.

  2. Complete the fields as follows:

    • Primary SMTP Gateway:  apimfp.botdoc.io

    • Port: 587

    • Reply Address: Botdoc email account provided to you

    • Use SSL/TLS: Required

    • Require Trusted Certificate: ✅ Checked (after completing certificate step)

    • SMTP Server Authentication: Login / Plain

    • Device Credentials: Use credentials provided by Botdoc (username@botdoc.io + password)

  3. Save the settings.

3️⃣ Test the Configuration

To test:

  1. Go to the Lexmark printer control panel.

  2. Select the Email option.

  3. Scan a document and send it to your email.

  4. You should receive the file via Botdoc SMTP.

  5. If it does not work, return and check the SMTP Connection Log for more information, or disable the “Require Trusted Certificate”

Your Lexmark MFP is now configured to send scanned documents securely via Botdoc.
