This guide explains how to configure a Ricoh MP Series MFP to send emails securely using Botdoc SMTP. Unlike other MFPs, Ricoh models does not require an imported certificate — the Site Certificate Check must remain disabled for proper SMTP operation
🔑 Prerequisites

Access to the Ricoh Web Image Monitor (via printer IP, e.g., http://192.168.x.x)

Administrator credentials

Botdoc SMTP username and password (provided by Botdoc support)
Access Device Configuration

Open your web browser and go to the MFP’s IP address.

Log in as Administrator.

On the left sidebar, click Device Management → Configuration.

Disable the Site Certificate Check

Under Security, click Site Certificate.

In the Site Certificate Check section, make sure it is set to Inactive.

Click OK to save the setting.


Configure SMTP Settings

Under Device Settings, click Email.

Save SMTP Password

After saving your SMTP settings, click on change under the "Authentication Password" and new window will prompt you to enter the password.

Enter your Botdoc password in both fields.

Click OK to save.
Test the Setup
Ricoh does not offer an SMTP test button on the web interface.
To verify the configuration:

Go to the MFP’s control panel.

Choose Scanner → Scab to Email.

Send a test scan to your email address.
If the email arrives successfully, the configuration is complete.

Your Ricoh MFP is now successfully configured to send scanned documents securely using Botdoc SMTP, with TLS enabled and the Site Certificate check disabled.
